"Display & Discuss" & "World War II Utility Clothing"

For this Meeting we return to a familliar venue in Wakefield with its large car park and easy level access.

In the morning, Members are invited to bring some of their own favorite items to show to those present and talk to them about what they have brought.

 

In the afternoon we will have a talk on the Utility Clothing Scheme in World War II.  Our speaker will be Lucy McConnell, MLitt, BA(Hons), QAVS, a Dress and Textile Historian and currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Leeds.

12.30 pm Annual; General Meeting

2.15 pm Talk "Controlling Commodities: CC41 Fashion under the Utility Clothing Scheme 1941-45" by Lucy MvConnell
