Title:
The History of Pantomime
Venue:
Church House, Church Street, Ilkley, Nr Leeds

We felt it would be good to celebrate the forthcoming Festive Season together, and to mark the event with some suitable lighted-hearted Christmas theme.

Some of you may be aware that our past chairman, Michael Cullingworth, has long had an extra career of a musical nature, something honed from his teenage years as a lively Methodist baritone. Over the years, this maturing chorister successfully explored various fields of musical theatre, some rather more colourful than others, as we shall see.

We were delighted that Michael kindly agreed to illustrate his other life for us, with a potted history of pantomime and an array of   outrageous costumes for it's most colourful character, (made especially for the various performances by his wife, can make your dream come true our Treasurer!) We had an hilarious day and one especially seasonal… our Dame even broke into song…

The meeting coincided with a handicraft event at the adjacent Ilkley Museum, Christmas Yorkshire Crafts, while the town itself was buzzing with the hubbub of the approaching celebrations.

Our caterers provided a traditional Christmas lunch at no extra cost and we were pleased to see you for a great ‘fun' day.
