We were delighted to introduce you to a new venue and a team who kindly agreed to spend the whole day with us, to illustrate their extensive specialist collection of Eastern dress.

Katie Chaplin and Jill Clay from Richmond,  on sale online North Yorkshire, specialise in Japanese culture and dress which offers a wide variety of textiles, surface-decoration and techniques. As well as identifying the particular characteristics of some individual pieces in their care, one dressed the other in an authentic Kimono with all the appropriate accessories.  The girls described these traditional garments and there purposes, together with details of geisha life and Japanese customs. Members were also invited to bring along any suitable items they had for display and/or discussion which enriched the day and formed the core of a lively 'show and tell' session after lunch.
